Chainstory Short5: The Observer

Humans.

Selfish. Arrogant. Hypocritical. Opinionated. Irrational. Foolish. Entertaining. Beautiful.

That is what I think of you. Your antics are all so out of place that it always leave me wondering whatever you will do next.

Who am I you ask?

Why, I am simply an observer who is watching this story from the shadows. However if you want to call me something you can call me The Cheshire Cat. That is what the humans in this story call me though I am not in any way important…yet. They are an interesting bunch. Each with their own quirks and flaws.

A misunderstood king with an unmatched sadness hidden under a cold exterior. Unless he strays from his path of destruction the redemption he seeks may never reach him.

A polite murderer with a heart more venomous than a cobra. His immense loyalty to the devil and vast intelligence is almost unrivalled to the point of making him the ultimate lapdog.

A girl with a heart darkened by sadness and vengeance. Her only freedom is by hatred and demise.

A survivor who can adapt to any dire situation. His innocence is fading and his eyes grow dim.

A thoughtful natural leader who is so normal that he is boring. His character needs more development or Death will write the next chapter of his life.

A knight whose heart has been weakened by love which could bring his downfall. His strength and weakness both stand on the same end of his chest.

A weak princess who death spared twice. Her existence annoys me.

A resourceful yet reluctant strategist who is more than what he seems. He hides his suffering under a calm coating and his strength beneath a cloak of weakness.

A sadistic huntress who tries to forget her pain using innocent flirtation. Her heart is already damaged but she fixes repeatedly and moves on forgetting her horrendous past.

A powerful empress who’s prepared to take the initiative. Her strong exterior overshadows her uncontrolled killing intent towards the king.

A wild child whose innocent surface hides a deceitful hatred. His lack of consideration to those around him gives him a higher chance of victory.

A child who is forgotten by all but with the greatest will to survive. His character is a lot more interesting than the princess’s.

A man who lives underneath the shadows. His motives unknown and his face a mystery.

All of them strong in some ways and weak in other. All of them stronger than some but weaker than the other. I want to see how far each of them go before succumbing to their ultimate fate. Will they gain what each of them are looking for? Or will they give up halfway and let fate take its course?

Ah! How magnificent. The endings are infinite. I want to see more. Before my part in this great game arrives I want to see more. I love you humans so much. How shall this magnificent tale of toil and turmoil end...?
